got 4 of the5 A/C units in, kind of hard to do, my backs been in bad shape and I haven't been to work since the 14th, got some help from my son with the heaviest unit, the rest my Wife helped me with. Just have to seal up the cracks around them and we'll be set for the summer. Have to go to a specialist on the 6th, will find out what needs to be done then. Just got the 5th in, now to rest up.

Sorry Major. I worked at an old hotel and we had to put in 50 window units once a year an then take em out a few months later an put em back in storage. It was a neat place ta work but I was no fan of those days.

Dang Arcey that one blew north of us, east and of course to the righthand corner, and Hurricane season hasn't even started yet. My work also involves some monitoring down there, I knew power was out but ours was restored a couple hours later. I assuimed everyones did.

Slim... ya might want to email your local weather predictor and let 'm know it's near the end of May. Frost is no longer needed.

They were predicting frost. We can't plant some things in the garden 'til after Memorial Day because of the chance of frost.

Mornin', y'all.
Hot with a breeze. Sticky but it's been worse. Thew flag, ahh Flag, should fly real nice in it. Y'all have a fine holiday. If we don't it ain't much recognition for them what fought 'n died for it for it.
Roo, it way kinda strange. Watched the wind come down Wedge to us. Saw branches comin' down in my trees weren't movin'. When it got here, they moved. Then the rain made it down Wedge 'n it was still dry here. Then the rain got here 'n I couldn't see down wedge no more. Few minutes later everything quit.
Everbody called Dominion. Midnight the next door folks to the north gets a voice mail from a Dominion bot sayin' they'd restored it but they're just as out as we were. All the other neighbors had it. Think we got lost in the shuffle...........

I posted this elsewhere, but thought it might be useful to some here as bad as the year is. If you want to take things in your own hands and keep well informed of what is going on with tornadoes.
It will help you keep track of what's going on, with all the ones this year and I expect more on the way some may find it useful.
Open two windows, on the first one go to:
http://www.wunderground.com/radar/map.asp
This seems to be the best free radar site, On the map click on the closest radar to you that is in the direction the storm is coming from, with tornadoes it is most often from the SW to NE. When the radar comes up click on animate on the tool bar, you will have about a 300 mile sweep. Also click on storm tracks, this will give the projected path of any storms and will assign a letter and number to each cell. The yellow squares are heavy hail on radar, the yellow diamonds are mesocyclones (cloud rotation) The purple triangles are radar detected tornado vortexes and may or may not be on the ground. Scroll down and there is a chart with more info on the cell.
One can also left click on the mouse and draw a box that will bring that area in close, this will get you down to about a 40X40 mile square. The show severe will bring up any watches and warnings on the map. The info there though is often a few minutes behind.
The second window go to:
http://www.weather.gov/
This will give you a map of the US with watch and warning boxes on it, put the cursor as close to you as you can and left click, this brings up a map of the area with watch and warning boxes plus a list to the right side of types of watches and warning. Tornado warning will have a red square and be at the top. Click on the warnings, this will bring up all active warnings in the area, listed by counties and will show towns in the projected path. It will also tell you if it is a storm that is capable of producing a tornado or if one is on radar or has been confirmed by a trained spotter.
These are the same warnings that local TV and Radio get, refresh often and check.
If in an area where you are not familiar with or watching an area for someone where you are not familiar with the towns and counties, open two more windows here:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Main_Page
Type in the town and state in the search, when it comes up go to the right and click on the coordinates for the place, this will take you to several map and satellite sites, I use the map on Acme Mapper and the map button on the left. This will allow you to locate where you are real quick, scroll it up and down with the slider on the left of the map.
Type the town in the next wiki window and when it comes up it will tell you what county the town is in, then click the county, scroll down and find the chart that shows the county in the center and the adjacent ones by direction. This will get you located very quickly and you can understand where the warnings are from the NOAA site very easily.
Local radio, TV and NOAA Weather Radio is also good to have, but these two sites at the top will keep you informed even better if you understand how to use them. The other two will get you located.

Lil planted her garden an then it hailed. Weren't too happy with that. Still tendin it daily an hopin fer the best.
Looks like rain taday, bout 50. Gonna leave the potted plants out taday ta take in some moisture, think she got one of everything, a regular victory garden goin on out there.
Everybody enjoy this important holiday and do the men who didn't come back proud. Every bite of grilled steak or sip of beer or iced tea, wish you could give it to them. Thinkin they would appreciate that.

Well said, Leo. Indeed.
Wonder how they'd react to the chair of the DNC sayin' if the GOP had their way we'd be drivin' foreign cars then she drives off in her glorified Nissan. Don't think they gave what they did for hypocrites.
On another front, the youngest eagle, the l'il boy of the clutch, sucked it up 'n flew out of the nest this mornin'. He didn't go far but in that enclosure he didn't have far to go. The biologists said one would fly on the Memorial Day weekend. That was his way of sayin', 'Thank You!'

Mornin Ya'll, CAWFEE's up. Got the first match of the season (for me anyway) here today, gonna be shootin 45-70 trapdoor and 45 Colt in lever. Way I see it is lot of us fought for peoples right ta pretty much do and say what they want and have opinions that may not be the same as ours. But sometimes I think the tolerance BS is stretched a little thin. Ya'll have an absolutely great Memorial Day Weekend.

We slept in this morning. I was up last washing clothes. I got the last load in about 10 am. We're going to a local PBR show tonight, north of Fort Worth. I drank a bunch of Cawfee this morning and it's time to remove some of it. Happy Memorial weekend to everyone. Don't forget our Veterans and the folks on active duty everywhere.

Late fer Cawfee. Been out in the yard with Angel an Lil. They is a fine pair, Lil trimmin shrubs an the dog gatherin all the sticks an makin a pile. Sun finally came out an the dog went an jumped in the creek. A very pleasant morning.
Del, we had a guy get shot an killed in Grass Valley fer lying about serving. Kept bugging an old Vet at a local bar about Vietnam. Said he was there an he was prolly my age. Old guy snapped one day and shot him right there in the bar. All lies er bad lies but that one has ta be at the top of the list. One a them cases where everyone said, "He was such a quiet man".
