I'm new to this part of CAS City so forgive me if this topic has been covered already, but do any of you know if there is any movement or expressed interest in getting a W3G club in Texas?

I'm in the process of getting it going...and it WILL be going soon in TEXAS!!!!

Right now I've got a commitment from the Green Mountain Regulators (outside of Marble Falls) to host a W3G club. We are working at getting material for berms and targets. Probably 6 months away from having a match.

Folks up in Cleburne are looking at putting on matches too. Also, contact with the TSRA is in its infancy as is talk with that group outside of English TX.

If anyone wants info...help...anything, let me know.

I wish you good luck with your W3G endeavors in Texas!

We've just gotten things off the ground here in Arizona, and it's a hoot - people really love it, and I admit I do as well.

I suspect you'll have the same results over there!

From what I have heard, W3G is what I would like to shoot over SASS type matches. I would also be interested in a club in Cleaburn. Thanks Sam

Sure would be good to have another spot to shoot.  I'm located in Northeast Texas and the two clubs (not W3G) in my area both shoot on the same weekend each month.

Tejas Shooters,

I spite of his social shortcomings [ Grin Grin Grin], Phantom knows his business when it comes to W3G.  Y'all down yonder in Tejas could travel further, look harder, and still not find a better advisor/champion.

Ol' T Bone did it really well. Good looking stage. The only thing I would add it covering the square frames and then you would have to do a target search as you move forward and not be able to see them in advance. That is what is so much fun for me at Piru, the only place I have shot W3G. The maneuvering around the props to see the next targets is funnnnn stuff.. The drop out bonus centers is icing on the cake.  Smiley

Howdy - HD, the reason for the open frames were two fold.  One, this being the premeir of W3G at the Bar 3, the stage designers wanted the people behind, up on the SASS stage porch to be able to see what was going on, as this was being shot downrange.  Also, Phantom was the Em C with  the microphone explaiining things to the audience play by play.

Two, this being new to everyone, the stage desiigners felt the open windows would be safer and less confusing for the first time.

I may add, everyone loved it!

Many thanks to Phantom and the Bar 3!

We're also starting to shoot some W3G at the Thunder River Renegades in Magnolia, TX.  I don't profess to be up on all the rules, but we had a short W3G shoot last weekend and added a Cody Dixon option to it.  That was a lot of fun.

Just for grins and giggles a couple of us then shot it as a Wild Bunch stage (1911's instead of SA's).  Then I ran it as a Wild Bunch Cody Dixon.  Maybe not per the rules, but lots of fun for a club level match!  Grin

LSFSC will be having our annual shoot on Memorial Day weekend. Included in the side matches on Saturday afternoon will be 2 stages of W3G. Ya'll come on out and give it a try.

Well is w3gun still alive or did it go the way of the buffalo?  Are there any w3g matches in nm? Is there a website for w3gun that shows were it is being shot and is updated when things change?

Go to the W3G topic and /or look up the Deadwood Boys. They hold a W3G shoot every 2nd Sunday of each month. I'm looking forward to it this coming Sunday. Also,  I believe that they have another World Cup of W3G coming up soon. Happy & safe shooting,  W. L.
