I used to get this at Tandy. Today I went in there for the first time in about 12 yrs and they do not carry it anymore. I don't need to buy a giant spool of it. Just enough to make 2 belts and four holsters.

Thanks
Mike

I get my thread from http://www.campbell-bosworth.com/catalog/index.php/cPath/6_71_73?osCsid=6funrp8ns28q5o8mgjeut4ef76

It's the best I've found yet, and can be dyed to any color and then waxed. I like the 5 strain pure Flax linen thread, it doesn't make any difference if its twist is right or left for hand sewing, which is all I do, it cost more, but I've never had this thread break even once since using it, Tandy's prewaxed broke on me all the time. I fined it a pleasure to sew with the Campbell Bosworth thread.

Thanks for the input. I have found some of those places and they have what I want. I was just hoping to find a smaller qty since I did not want to spend 30-40 dollars just to get enough for 4 holsters and 2 belts but I guess I will have to break down and get it. Tandy used to sell small spools of it 25 yds for 2.99. I am looking at the 1998-1999 Tandy catalog.

Most of the linen thread Tandy used to sell was made by Blue Mountain Industries, they went out of business I believe. They were just a few miles from me.

my pleasure pard, hope it works great for you, I haven't found anything better, just make sure you wax your thread before sewing.

Ten Wolves is right. I had my suppliers mixed up. Roll Eyes
By the way, they have called me back twice. I ordered the thread and some star conchos and there was a mix up on the conchos. They seem to want to get my order right so I will be happy.  Grin

My thread came today. It looks to be very nice quality and I just wish it was pre waxed like the spool I have been using that was over 30 years old and given to me by a friend.  Well, on second thought I may want to die some of it for requests although I prefer the natural color on my rigs.

The 1 pound ball of thread is the size of a role of toilet paper.  Shocked  I will wear out a lot of fingers using that up!!  Wink
