The Indians would have your scalp on a lodgepole within a month to own that.  Wink Grin

Not a nickel plated one, but in 'white finish'.

Germany.

Antique nickel looks a lot like silver plate.  It is a very white frosty color.  The only real difference between the look of old time nickel finish and silver plate is the fact that silver will tarnish and if left alone, it will turn blue/black.  Old time nickel plate has the frosty color because the plating was done on a raw polished metal surfaces.  The bright nickel we see from the 1940's on, was put over metal that was first plated with copper.

I might look that one over for enjoyment.

I recently attended one of RIAs auctions...wasn't successful in bidding, but enjoyed handling several Henry's. One was a documented CW rifle...brought around $16K... looked ok on the outside, but not so great otherwise.

Thanks for that link LH.  I really enjoy browsing through those auction catalogs.  Or maybe I should say drooling instead of browsing.  All items out of reach for me, but real easy on the eyes.

BTW, with a little touch-up work, many of the fiream photos are great for your PC desktop. I have the Merwin (that got away) on my machine at work. The IT folks get a kick out of seeing it (& my office "toys" when they drop by).
