Mornin All.

40 an hazy taday.  Tut tut, looks like rain.

When I bought ma Vaquero I eyeballed a new Black hawk.  The Old Model cost more than the Hawk but I shot em both an chose it.  That has been a good gun, chambered fer either 38 er 357 dependin on what I wanna do.

Hey, y’all.

Mid-sixties, gonna break seventy, ‘n the sun’s hidin’. Kinda nice. Could be just a touch cooler. Chili goin’ ‘n it’s gonna be too warm for it. Oh well. This ain’t Hell’s Kitchen.

WM, if I write it here it’s yer bidness. If it's none of yer bidness I won't post it here. Thanks for the thought. Just a struggle right now ta get outta bed. The day goes on it eases up. Ain’t took nothin’,yet, taday. Got most the kitchen cleaned up from last evenin’ ‘n dinner started. Made a run ta the grocery ta get some Ro*Tel. Thought I had some. GuaranDAMNtee ya one thing – be awhile ‘fore I do sumthin’ that stupid again. Hope the lady has a large time with the guns.

Reckon if I could only have one ‘n I didn’t play cowboy or plan to, it’d be my model 28 Smith. Barrel scribblin’ sez it shoots .357 Magnums but I know for a fact it shoots .38 Specials too.

Eaglets been fed ‘n done crapped out. This was posted on the forum yestitty. Stuff like this is why I don’t do TV. Don’t find stupid entertainin’:

Good choice Arcey, I'd love to have one of them or a 27 with a 5 inch pipe.  Rare but the ones I've handled feel real good to me.

I had a 6 inch Model 28 and a 3.5 Nickel plated 27 at one time. I sold them both and wish I had not now. Arcey, Chili is good anytime, but especially the wintertime with homemade tortillas. Some folks like cornbread with their chili. I make Japaleno cornbread with peppers, Mexicorn, and Monterray Jack cheese.

Thankee, Del. Gotta 27 but she’s a safe queen. The 28 (6”) don’t mind gettin’ dirty. Slide a set of Hogue grips on. Feels nice ta me.

Ain’t decided what ta eat with the chili. Prolly just some saltines er garlic toast if I feel froggy.

Figgerin chick an dumlins fer tanight.  Got plenny of stock an bird left over from last nights roast.  Current weather permits that as the meal ta chose.

The only kick I get outta late night TV is when they read the stupid news headlines.  Last one I saw was "Homeless man gets sentenced to house arrest".  Still aint figgered out that puzzle.

I turned down what now would be the deal of the century about 25 years ago on a 38 special.  One of the local shops had it, 4" Python, one of the rare 38 onlys.  Price was about half what a 357 one would have been.  Guess they've went way up in value now from what I've been told, should have bought it.

Hadda 28 way back ‘n sold it. I was sorry later, like Tex. Was talkin’ to a fella that had one he didn’t want. Said it had problems. Took the thing ta Pungo. Trigger didn’t wanna return half the time. He took a hunnert ‘n fifty for it. Broke it down ‘n it was filfty inside. Cleaned it up, ground the serrations out the face of the trigger ‘n polished it. Stuck the Hogues on it. I’m happy. It’s for sale, but a hunnert ‘n a half won’t come no where near startin’ the biddin’.

The other I lucked inta belonged ta a cop’s ex-girlfriend. She was shootin’ a six inch 14 with him in PPC shoots. They busted up ‘n I had an 18, six inch .22. She couldn’t afford ammo ‘n didn’t wanna load or quit shootin’. Bought the 18 used, she bought the 14 new – even trade. That was when I was in K-9 in early ’75. The revolver is in the safe right now.

That’n didn’t come without trouble tho. Fat lady, when she wasn’t fat, come home ‘n found Salem butts with lip stick on ‘em in the ashtray. She didn’t smoke ‘n I smoked Winstons.

Got an idea here, gonna run it past the folks here, just to see what you think.  I may have solved a mystery almost a 150 years old.

Was watchin' the History Channel or something similar the other night, interesting show, couple hours long about the man hunt for John Wilkes Booth after he shot Lincoln.  He was on the run for almost two weeks before he was shot.  Anyway among the things on his body was his diary, missing about 50 pages they say.  historians higher educated than me have been trying to decide what was in them and why they were gone ever since.

Well I can't say what they said, but I bet I can tell your where they went, they were scattered between Washington DC and Garrnett's Farm.  Wonder if any of them that trys to figure it out has ever spent much time out wanderin in the woods?  See them diary sheets would be much better than most leaves you'd find in the woods in April.  Now come June or July or later when the Velvet Leaf is big, they might be a better choice, but yeah I think ol JWB used them to wipe his butt with. OK, you think on it.  Funny after I posted this I went up to the WD and used the place you need paper.  Anyway Joe was working tonight.  I found out he watched the same show.  I brought up the missing pages in the diary and he prended to tear a page out of a book and wipe his but.  Scary, someone else thinks like me. OK, I just gave up working on my book for the evening or I guess morning, my mind is still working, but my eyes ain't.  Coffee is done, I moved it back from the fire and built up the fire to keep it warm.

Don't get yer bedroll to close and if anyone notices the grass startin' to burn stomp it out please.  Oh and over in the right corner somethin' is cooking, but the dang picture is almost 5 years old and I can't remember what it is right now, good night.

Oh and why is Pandora playin' Mama Tried by Merle, is he tryin' to tell me something? Grin

Guess Ah would have ta know, was that paper the kind made from rags or the kind like they used in the "pulp fiction" novels?  Fifty pages seems like a lot of poopin and/or wipin goin on, would be an average of almost 4 pages a day, ya think maybe he got his hands on some of that "Activia".  Huh Huh Roll Eyes WM
