The Kirst .22's are here!!!

The .22 converters are on the way to the distributer!!!!



They are as close to a drop in part as we have ever made and will fit both Steel and Brass frames with no modification to the frame.

They will be available from the Kirst web store and

Buffalo Arms

and others TBA

Price is $290 which includes the converter, ring and adapter barrel.

For those of you wanting a full length Target barrel, they will be available through me in the next month or so. Order the standard converter if you want the short adapter barrel or wait and get the target converter for $310. you can also order the target barrel seperatly for $150.



Breech loaders and ejectors will be available in the future but will require modification to the frame to load .22 LR. We will convert existing rings to breech loaders for a small fee.

OK Jay! On my "to get" list. How long is the target barrel?  Does it fit full length in the 8" barrels?

Target barrels are approxamatly 8 1/2"

Check out that target though -- pretty good accuracy for a 3 inch barrel!

The target version with loading gate and ejector sounds splendid. When will it be available?

I wonder if breech loading with .22 Shorts would work with the existing cap relief on the revolver frame, as in the original converter shown in the thread below:

When they come and they are a ways down the road as we have several other cool products on the way, The breech loaders will fire .22 Shorts without modification to the frame. To breach load .22Long Rifles will require a loading port, onlly not as deep as the standard converters. They will also work great with revolvers ported for the standard converter.

The way this is going to work you can buy the Drop in .22 and start shooting now and upgrade to a breachloader when the ejectors are available.

The ejector will be a seperate unit from the barrel but will still resemble the original unit.

At some point we will be offering a Limited Production Historicaly Correct version.

The .22 Ring is the same size as the .45 Ring but the fireing pin is shifted upwards for rimfire. You cannot use a .22 ring with a .45 cylinder.

I was considering buying one of the Kirst 22cal conversion cylinders for my Pietta 1858 and was wondering, with the barrel insert, can I shoot any 22LR rimfire cartridges or am I limited to standard velocity lead bullet ammo?

Another question, on the Kirst site it says you might have to make minor fitting adjustments with the 22 conversion. Anyone know what these might be?

The vast majority of .22 converters need No fitting they are drop in........but there is allways the exception to the rule.

You can fire any available .22 S, L, or LR
