That sounds like fun. Just put a canned ham in the oven. Not as good as a "real" ham but it was given to us.

Ran out of LP primers. Toy store has 'em fer $38 per 1000. Last time I bought 'em they were $26.  Shocked Gonna go buy 'em after the oven gets ta temp.

One thing I learned about those crayon point bullets Arcey is they sure killed cans and stuff like that good, but they wern't worth a dang on anything I wanted to kill, the point is way to small.  A 22 short with a solid does better.
switched over to that Lyman 117 grain with the big flat nose and it slaps the rabbits and squirrels down like the hammer of Thor and don't damage much meat.  Want to turn on on a coyote some time, think it will do the same for it.

Also with my 32 even with WW's and only 1200 or so fps they sure put some dimples in the steel targets we have.

Happy Birthday Lil.

On the primer bit, I've only had one gun tjhat didn't go bang when I told it to. EAA Big Bore Bounty Hunter in .38/.357. Went to a Wolff spring, then it decided it was going to be picky, didn't like anything but Feds. Did a lot of foolin' around with it, and discovered the problem was actually a design flaw concerning the T-bar. Didn't cover the firing pin completely. We were dealing with three of them between my partner and me. The smith I had( may he rest in peace) did an extension of the bar by silver soldering a piece on it. After that, it'd pop anything I put in it. The other two, we had him remove the bars, build up the hammer's face. Solved the problems either way. Eventually, I had my .45 version done the barless way as well.
Those three have been going strong ever since, mine has a string of clean matches to it's credit, including an annual( three days). Also qualified me for my CCW.
I still prefer Federal's given a choice, but can use any brand if forced to...........Buck Roll Eyes Cool

Happy B’Day, Lil.

I’m just lookin’ ta ring steel ‘n poke holes in paper. The thing about the bullet was I’ve never seen even the pickiest of rifles that wouldn’t cycle the things. The revolvers don’t care either way. When I had ‘em I was usin’ wadcutters in the pistols ‘n kept round nosed stuff in the belt loops for reloads.

Heh, heh, heh….. Occasionally, someone who took the cowboy thing too serious would comment on the wadcutters – weren’t cowboy. They’d say that wearin’ a 1/2” thick plastic diver’s watch………..

Cowboys never shot steel targets against a timer either.

Wadcutters are great on small game, just slaps them sown.  I've got a mould for the 32, casts at 85 gr with WW's.  Dang thing don't make light loads for poop with any alloy, any sizing.  Run it up to about 1400 and it's a tack driver, really slaps bunnies.  But the range is limited so I use the heavy flat nose in case I see a yodel dog or something.  Flat puts the hurt on a plastic pop bottle of water at 25 yards though.

I made a whole list of how the game differed from life. Such as the bad guys holdin’ still ‘n standin’ in the open. Different strokes I suppose.

Gotta group talkin’ patent dates not bein’ on certain pistols like the originals. Hell, if ya take a Uberti, spend a fortune on it to make it an exact copy, that’s what ya got. A copy with Colt patent dates stamped on it..

I keep my gear and camp as correct as I can for common sense and saftey, but I do different things and do it at public historcal sites.  Lots of incorrect stuff, but most hidden  but are their for saftey and common sense reasons.  Weather radar on the phone and a good flashlight only make sense, even in an 1870's army barracks.  Not my flashlight mine is a 6 D cell mag-lite.

I always figue just take a picture, sipia tone the picture and it's right.  Ever seen an F-150 on the Ory-gun trail, going over a toll bridge? Roll Eyes

Yep and the slant draw cross draw holster.  Or the man with 4 guns and enough ammo to shoot a full match.  It's  a game, different groups have different rules so find the one that fits you.  But like I've told several folks on both sides, don't sit and bicker about this and that, just play the game that you like the rules for.  Folks who bicker and fight over petty BS might as well join Sarah Brady and her bunch, they are already harming shooters as a whole.

Leo's seen this one before, how many times has some said "they didn't wear hats with the modern rodeo/George Strait/Garth Brooks/Cattleman" crease in them?

Well this guy from a now defunt town in Custer County Nebraska seemed to have one back in 1887.

Aint that a calvary hat?  Laugh at me if ya want to, but it sure looks like one.

Think the nose bleed stopped but I'm kinda dizzy.  Have ta tell the little woman that we need more paper towels.

Beef butt is smellin good in the crock, these should be some good tacos fer Lil an her unexpected guests.  Doin chili lime an it should be ready on schedule.
