Thought some of you might like this Video

Anyway, here it is:

http://www.youtube.com/watch_popup?v=OQnU1t7UzgM

It kinda caught my eye, cause this used to be part of my job ....
My moniker is my great grandfather's name. He served with the 2nd Florida Mounted Regiment in the Civil War. Afterward, he came home, packed his wife into a wagon, and was one of the first NorteAmericanos on the Frio River southwest of San Antonio ..... Kinda where present day Dilley is ...

What was your job? Were you a door gunner? Looks like a fun profession, albeit a tad dangerous! :)

I've been to a few of these shoots at Knob Creek, and we have our own personal MG shoot on private property every year in January (whilst neighbor people are in the house with doors and windows closed) Not even remotely close to any BP shoots, but fun none the less.

Dirty Brass,

I spent the first 8 years of my Air Farce (spelling intended) 'career' as a paid Boy Scout in Pararescue .... as in 'we're going to pay you to jump, backpack, dive, mountain climb and drink ...'

My last couple of years of the eight was as a tail gunner (not bad for a non-combatant carreer field ....) on HH-53s ... which is what that attached pic is supposed to be, but I never saw a -53 that clean ....

They both still sound like fine work duties with lots of challenging and exciting moments. :)

I always liked it with both feet on the ground. See the fellas at Ft. Benning jump school taught me that :D

Nice clip.

I was young and dumb and full of  ... well you know. Thought I was invincible ...

I have almost 90 jumps ... all static line (i.e. no free fall or HALO [High Altitude, Low Opening])

People used to ask me how I could jump from a perfectly good plane ... my standard retort was 'When did you ever see a 'perfectly good plane' in the military?'  LOL

Here are some nearly 40 year old pics of me .... I only wish that I was that skinny and could run eight miles again!

WWE;  Sorry, but my spam filter said your video was DANGEROUS!  Maybe it was, but it look like you came through it more or less intact.

Sir Charles,

Thanks for the heads up!

My Norton did not detect anything, but the computer is running real slow ... don't know if the coputer is just really old or if I have a Virus ... so I will run a scan when I shut down tonight ...

Thanks again!
