That's a good idea, Major. I don't like to talk with those folks. I got out for a little while today. The weather was nice for a change. We're supposed to have a cold front come through over the weekend. Mon. and Tues. will have lows in the 20s.

Made the call it was worse than I thought it would be.  Listened to Punjab for 20 minutes an he transfered me to another department.  Haji said he would transfer me to another guy who could get me set up... but I would have to pay them 99 bucks because tech support is warranty in their way of thinking.  I'll figger the dang thing out myself.  Netgear can kiss my white Irish a**.

Fergot......

Here's some more from Wikipedia.
"Matthews comes from a football family. Matthews' father, Clay Matthews, Jr., played the third most games in NFL history (278) over 19 seasons as a linebacker for the Cleveland Browns and Atlanta Falcons while earning 4 Pro Bowl selections. Matthews' uncle, Bruce Matthews, played as an offensive lineman for 19 years in the National Football League for the Houston Oilers/Tennessee Titans franchise after being drafted out of USC in 1983. He was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2007 and considered one of the greatest offensive linemen in NFL history, playing in a NFL-record 14 consecutive Pro Bowls. Both brothers were All-Americans. His grandfather, Clay Matthews, Sr., played 4 seasons in the NFL for the San Francisco 49ers in the 1950s. Of the four sons of Clay Matthews, Jr., he is the second to play for USC. His younger brother Casey Matthews plays linebacker for the University of Oregon Ducks. His cousin, Kevin, is a center for the Tennessee Titans."

I bought a nearly new HP Mini Laptop just before Christmas. It is in an offline mode and I can't seem to get it back online. I dread the thought of having to call their IT support to cure my problem.

He does seem to be settling in up there, Arcey Roll Eyes

Thanks for the coffee, SB.

It's 14 here, with about 2" of new snow. Roads in the  park haven't been touched, but according to Susie, the mains weren't bad. Only one system on a 2 hour delay. That's the new thing around here since they cut the snow/calamity days down to three. Makes real sense for the Lake Erie snowbelt! Roll Eyes Undecided

Mebbe I shouldn’t follow up the well wishes with this but it’s sa damned funny I gotta  pass it along.

The Associated Press

CHARLOTTE, N.C. - North Carolina police say the rising price of copper led a man to his death when he tried to steal electric transmission lines.

WSOC-TV reports that Charlotte-Mecklenburg police said Thomas Freeman and two other men hatched a plan to steal the copper wire in the power lines. Police say Freeman tried to snip the live wires with a bolt cutter, but suffered a high-voltage shock and fell from his ladder to the ground 30 feet below. He died later at a hospital.

Police Capt. Bruce Bellamy says robbers (Robbers? ‘OK, power pole! Show yer insulators! This here’s a stick up!’ That should be ‘thieves’. Reporters ‘n editors, shezzzzz…) are taking greater risks as the price of copper goes up and people look to sell the metal for scrap.

Charlotte police say charges are pending against the two men who joined Freeman.

Twisted alot of wires in my day and I got a say that is just plain dumb.  I won't even change a household outlet without cuttin the power an takin my wedding ring off just in case (an I never do that fer any other reason).  The guy definitely gets a posthumous Darwin award.

A 30’ ladder. That’s a big’n. Ain’t sure I’ve ever seen one less it was attached ta a hunk of apparatus………

The worst part is trying to get the smoke back in the wires.  It's a real pain.
