That's mostly where Catholics are in the majority.  Some areas were settled by large Catholic majorities, but but they are far from a majority in the state as a whole.

I was just thinkin back on ma history lessons and I seem to recall that the first organization of local gubberments was broke down inta parish/town/county.  Thought I'd throw it out there.

Could be Leo, but they also wore knee breeches and was still friendly with a king.  Round here it's county, township and section.
we also try to build our roads straight.

You have to be pretty flat to keep'em that straight, Del! Roll Eyes Middle of this country is more conducive to that. At least you found some evidence of Carman on a map. So far Caroline is just a phantom with the same name as another county........Buck Roll Eyes

We have a lost town here.  It aint lost for those that know how ta find it but it's got no power grid, no phone service and defiantly no chamber of commerce.  Got a couple hundred people livin there that just don't wanna be bothered.  Gotta take a blind windy one lane road with a 2000 foot drop an no guard rail ta get there so most folks don't even know it's there.  I'll have ta look up the maps but I got a feeling it won't be there.  We have a few mining camps that never died.

Tenderloin fer supper with some kinda sauce on it.  Looked good so I took it out of the freezer.  Sure somethin will go with it, but I don't seem ta be in a big rush ta figure out what.

He had a goose egg on his head, too. But he wasn't complaining about that.

It was 0 with a WC of -10 when I took the dogs out about an hour ago. Cold enough that one of them did the cold paw dance( AKA: Arithmetic dog, put down three, carry one). It's now 4, sun is out for what that's worth Roll Eyes Undecided

I got the drives blown yesterday, at least the electric start got the blower started! Did one, came in to warm up, then went back out and did the other. The one at the house here is short but steep, hard to get up if it's icy. The other is longer, and seems to get deeper snow cover for some reason. It belongs to a snow bird that lets Sandy park her car there when she's gone..............Buck Undecided

Thanks fer rescuin the Cawfee an makin grub Roo.  Tex got my mind set on those sausage bisckets and I can't hold out any longer.  Got over my microwave phobia when I moved inta this place.  Nice big over range unit with the range light an fan built in.  Lil made ma sammich in the morning yesterday and in 30 seconds it was fresh as a daisey at lunch time.  No tumors to report as of yet.

Crisp here with a good dose of sun.  No frost.  Didn't get over ta the neighbors confuser yesterday but I found a web site that had some tips I may try taday.  Can't talk ta no one on the phone no more without a credit card and a willin ta use it.  Found with a little research, anything they could tell ya, ya can get fer free if ya know how ta read.

Yer on the other side of the front, 26 here, partly cloudy.  Got snow and freezing rain between us Stu.  Radar shows us clear for now, but looks like it's snowwing good in the next counties west of us and beyond.  Doubt it will wait till after 8 like they said earlier.  They say 3-5.
