Somebody, evidentially a Newby Dude, probably a city dweller   Shocked  screwed the data up.   Grin Grin Grin

I think it is a safe bet the rifle is a .44-40...

Howdy

No way it could be 38-55. You can see the bottom of the carrier and it is standard length, for 45 Colt or 44-40. I'm quite sure nobody ever made a Henry replica chambered for 38-55. It is too long for the action, plus probably too powerful.

That’s bad business! How long do you think I’d stay in operation if it cost me money every time I pulled a job? If he’d pay me that much to stop robbing him, I’d stop robbing him.

Ya probably inherited every penny ya got!

It kind of looks like it could also be "Chucky."

Looks like it may very well have been "Chucky" from "Shoot" Magazine.  Tis a really fine work of art though.  Needs to be re-chambered to .44 Spl.  Shoot .44 Russian cases in it.

Yep! that's Chucky's ,is what I thought the name looked like also.

and on a lark. I sent an inquiry last week to Starline, asking the possibility of making some 44 R. in a more copper color/content.
and they responded "we only deal with 260 Alloy Cartridge brass that is 70% Copper and 30% Zinc." I figured that's what their answer would be, but ask anyways.  Wink Reckon, we's lucky to have what we got. Cool
