Hello, I am new to the forum, it looks great.
I have an opportunity to buy a Euroarms 1873 44-40.  I have never heard of Euroarms and am curious about the quality, authenticity, and parts compatability of the rifle compared to Uberti guns.  Does anyone have any info about these?
Thanks for any help.  Rob

Euroarms has not produced 73's (not sure they are even still in business) for many, many years.  They were fairly well made, but parts are hard/impossible to get.  Unless the price is really cheap, get a Uberti.  Absolutely do not buy a Chaparral if you ever happen to run into one of those.  Poor quality and no parts.

I have two of the Euroarms 73's, or I did have before my daughter absconded with my carbine. The other is an engraved rifle, both are in 44-40. While it is true the company has not produced them in many years, they are excellent rifles. Parts are difficult to impossible to come by, and I doubt that many of the Uberti parts would work. There too I have an early 1980's vintage Uberti 73 that I doubt that many of the current production parts would work in either. If you want the rifle for CAS, I'd say hold off and save up for a current Uberti, you won't go wrong. If you're looking for a second or third rifle (or fouth or seventh) then I'd say go for it.
