4Trod Ain't DEAD....
« on: October 12, 2010, 04:59:37 PM »
But I am afraid that his 'puter may not be quite as healthy. After stringing many swear words together he has given up and taken it in to be repaired, replaced or shot and turned into electronic glue.

So, at his request he wanted me to let all his loving fans know that he is well, and is not mad or upset at anybody (that I know about). His computer should be back in about a week, so if you need to contact him. Well, you know what to do.

In the meantime.....he will be drumming his finger tips on the absent keyboard awaiting the return to the wires..

Well I talked to him on Monday, had a funny to tell him about my brother and some Lucas 'lectrical parts and Whitworth bolt threads. ;D

Anyway he can always go down to the Senior Center like he did last time, as long as he can fight off the blue haired old ladies:

Del,
Well that is definately Forty Rod on the far left alright. I verified that by seeing him roaming the GFBJL over the weekend. It is sort of like he has been preserved and never gets younger or older looking. He just stays ugggghly.

just funnin'.  I actually had a meaningful conversation with him. Really!

1948 Ferguson TE-20 tractor, only thing left Lucas on it was the ignition switch, lost a nut, he didn't have one that fit, was cussin' it wasn't SAE or Metric.  You note I said was as in past tense.

Grandpa replaced a F-20 Farmall with it in 1960, Dad overhauled it twice before he passed on.  It's ours now, rare tractor, not for sale, still has lots of work to do. ;)

Got a pair of them, the red one is a 1957 Massey-Ferguson 65, first year of the Massey-Ferguson, had a 51 TO-35 Fergusson, but got rid of it when we got the 65, it's a restored trailer queen no, I see it at shows.

Here is is cussing Mr Lucas:

The TE working:

As seen on TV, The DR Chipper:

The Old Grey Fergie smokes a little under load:

Not the 12 volt Delco-Remy alternator, no Lucifer Elctrics here. ::)

Brother has a pile of parts in Mom's garages, says he's building a tractor, funny, one of the parts looks like a small block Chevy that should be in someone's 70 Camero, the Dana 60 looks to narrow though. ;D

Cool, that's what they call an orchard style isn't? I was born and raised in Iowa. My grandparents had a farm. Loved the old tractors. I remember Massey Ferguson moved one of their plants to Des Moines from Canada. Not sure if they are still in Des Moines or not. I haven't lived in the mid-west since 1972.
I do remember that John Deere had a big plant in Ankeny, Iowa.
Looks like the old tractor is still a work horse. Great pictures.
Thanks,
Deadeye Dick

Any thread 40T starts or is about him is to be hijacked as soon as the subject at hand is fully addressed.   ;)

Now back to them orchard tractors, always have wanted one of these:

Just think what a set of Endlebrock heads and three Stromsberg 97's would do for it. :o
