Frontier Cartridge Wild Bunch
« on: August 21, 2010, 05:16:08 PM »
Had a hoot today with my two of my new favorite things at our monthly match.  Shooting the 1911 and black powder.  I put 100 rounds of BP ammo through a new Springfield GI with only 1 stovepipe on round 36.  I know that's blasphemy for 1911 folks - but I've long been told I'm a little strange.  One of Dick Dastardly's 200 grain DD/PUK bullets with 16.5 grains of Goex FFFg works splendidly in a stock pistol.   ;D

Picked up my Norc last monday and shot it the next day with 18 grs Swiss No 2 under a J/P 200 gr Big Lube. ;D
It did really well, no fouling in the gun and the barrel was clean after 1 wet and 2 dry patches, just like my Rugers and Rossi
with the same bullet. ;D
Pictures will follow after I turned it into a 1911/1911A1 hybrid ( long-trigger, flat MSH and a pair of double diamonds ) ::)
