I just made my first sheath!
First here are the knifes ....the shorter one was by Dave Cole and matched a sheath he made that matches my modified Will Ghormley/Johnny Ringo rig. The knife is wonderful but it is to short to even cut a steak with .... so I bought this blade from Crazy Crow, had Big T make some scales for it, and made this leather sheath for reenactment ...
The Dave Cole Knife now goes into the sheath that I made on my Possibles Bag:

Congrats on your first sheath, WW. The stitching looks nice and even. Those are nice knives. The Crazy Crow knife looks good, as does the Cole one.

Marshall Will,
I think of you often ... every time I see that assembled wagon in my garage .... *S*
Yet another project on the back burner ...
But the Possibles Bag was a kit (called the Bridger Bag Kit at
http://www.octobercountry.com/products/OC-Bridger-Bag-Kit.html
... and came precut with thread, needles and everything ... and cheaper than buying the bulk leather at Tandy!
I got them on the phone and ordered some extra leather and made a patch knife sheath on the aft side and a tool pocket for nipple prick and nipple wrenches ... I also took some Tandy Buckles, removed the tongues in a vise and used the square of the buckles to attach the shoulder strap to the back ... and by using different colors of leather and less-than-perfect stitching (Hey- it was my first kit!), I hoped to make a Bag that looks like it was repaired and strengthened with whatever leather was available, and stitched by the campfire and moonlight on those nights coming across the prairies ....

AC,
Thanks ... but without your tool gifts that got me out of the 'I ought ta be doing some of this' to a 'well, I should try', I would still be contemplating my navel lint ... thanx!

Thanks Marshall Will,
By using the Tandy Buckles, I was able to buy roller buckles so that the bottom of the straps (that connect to the Bag) are on rollers ... and tend to take any movement on the roller-to-buckle joint rather than catch a leather ....
But if I was gonna do it again, I would buy a bigger bag in a kit ....the bag makes a good place to put non historically correct things (like DateRunners and cell phones in).

Those look good, Helda. The fold over satchel is very cool. Turquoise makes such a good inlay. Thanks for sharing.
