Confederate Side Knife

Nice old blade.
I won't be wronged, I won't be insulted, and I won't be laid a hand on. I don't do these things to other people and I require the same of them."

Just curious, any reason given where ever you got the photo to call it a Confederate knife?

Mainly because it's common amongst those in the collecting community to call such types/styles as Confederate - whether they all are or not is many times questionable, but it is again common for them to be termed such...and no most do not have rock solid documentation, but it make them no less intesting - even the fakes, many obvious and others not so, can be of interest to those who are interested in learning the difference.

Thank You Chuck, that's what I suspected, dosen't make them any less interesting. but it also doesn't mean that every Confederate ren-actor or wanna be Josey Wales needs one to be "correct."

I know that was not implyed in the original post, however at times around Civil War Ren-actments you would think it was a requirment.  Thanks for the information Chuck.
