Just to Add My Opinion,
My previous favorite was my Colt Series 80, it shot well, accurate and liked the load I made up for it, a mild Unique load with a 200 Gr. RNFP. The POA vs. POI was the same for facory 230 ball ammo however, always was about 2" high at 15 yards, windage was on center. Cycled very well, no jams after thousands through it, just kept it clean.
Now a few months back, finally got the SA Mil-Spec I had been looking for a few years now. Found a really good deal and took it. First out to the range, just cleaned it well and then started cycling the factory loads and my own loads, shot exceptionally well. Now, as for the SA, it shoots to the sights at the 15 yards, elevation is on and windage is centered too Checked the rear sight and it is about .020 lower than the rear sight of the Colt.
My thinking is, if the Colt bothers me, I'll just drop in a SA rear sight, both are dove-tailed, I'll just check and make sure the widths match. Worse comes, I'll just wittle down the current Colt rear sight. But hey, I can't complain, the Colt really shoots pretty good and I know where it will hit at the 15 yard mark, I best leave well enough alone.
