Didn't know where to put this, but Alias are Tall Tales I reckon.

About a month ago, the Missies and I attended a clinic in Damascus Md, at that time we both joined SASS. We were giving numbers and the SASS badges at that time. I picked and Alias (the one I use here)and she could not think of one, she liked. The one I chose was not listed in the print out. Today we both recieved membership cards with just our numbers on it.(We were warned they are slow at SASS>< heard it takes them an hour and half to watch 60 minutes there) So Shawna called them today, with a  list names she had thunkd up, all were taken, she inquired about litl' rooster it was taken. So she took apart some of the Alias and come up with one. I called back and was able to secure a alias also but not one I intended on using. So I am putting my glasses back on and throwing my Eye patch away. I will remain in  CasCity as litl rooster, and if the the other one doesn't like it, he can meet me in front of the LongBranch at High Noon.

There is less than 60000 members in SASS how in the world did 2 people ever come up with the same alias's? I sure wish MegaMillions was that easy.

Just ranting.. Hope you all don't mind

Sadly, Litl Rooster, it is rare, but it does happen. There's a bruhaha over on the SASS wire going on about it, now. SASS really needs to implement a good searchable database of names.

Wish you had come out to Mechanicsville today, it was a great shoot.

At 6am this morning I was saddling my horse, it was a perfect sky lower humidity and a slight breeze, the whole time I thought I would rather being down there  shooting....So did my horse. If I don't work I can't afford the toys and playing so it's a catch 22. Maybe in June. Tomorrow going to Berkely Springs. Seems there are plenty of Saturday shoots but not so many Sunday.

Seems these Alias's, are like New York taxi permits and Liquor License's maybe we can sell them off to high bidder or trade

Tomorrow is also King George with the Peppermill Creek Gang. That's where I'll be. Registration starts at 9 and I hear they'll have a crazy lady manning the registration table.

Your right Slim, back when i was deciding on mine I called one day and talked to one person and was told all of my choices were in use, I went back and came up with a couple of others and called back and talked to some one else and told them how hard it was to choose an alias when so many good ones were already taken, they asked so I went through my previous list and was told that three of the five I had given the first time were available.  I am beginning to wonder if they get a group of applications by mail, lets say 20 with 5 choices on each and while they are determining if any can be used they hold those 100 aliases as used until they can assign the best choice for each of those.  If they are slow on top of that you could have 100's of names being held, that wind up not getting used.  What they need is a good database so they can quickly determine if an alias is in use or not!

Now I ain't the smartest round these joke sendin' contrapions, but my guess a good typist could make just the list of names in a couple days work and save far more work.  Would really just need the list of used names, nuthin' else.
