Here's one I just finished.

Please critique away, I know I could use some improvement!

Ned,

It looks darn good Pard !

Only one thing I can think to mention from a durability standpoint is the very front of the wood  tapers out to the thin "points" where it is beside the blade edge.

Thin cross sections like that are risky especially with burl wood.

Certainly not certain death for the handle just risky IMHO.

 She is a looker though !   ;D

That's almost exactly what I was gonna write (before I saw your post)!  'Cept I was gonna say that I need to examine the knife in person before I can offer a qualified opinion.  ; ;D

But what I really think is this:  I have to have one of those knives.  My favorite form of knife is not a bowie or belt knife, it's a boot knife. And your knife, Ned, is one of the best I've seen. Great sheath, too, with the spoon clip  I really need to figure out how to get one (and hide the purchase from my wife).  ; ;)

Thanks for the comments guys, I appreciate it. In my book the only thing better than a nice blade is an even nicer piece of wood for the handle.

48 coats of finish on this one! :o

Josh, I do recognize that problem but it seems most of my work ends up in a costuming role and rarely if ever gets used for anything!

Thanks again

Fine lookin' knife, Buck.

Like the others said, I'd love to own it and the VERY nice sheath.
