I know this question has come up many times ..but I have a case of CRS today .
Reason I`m wondering ...I owned a 1990 ASM Remmie and a Uberti conversion cylinder fit it ..
I just bought a 1978 ASM Remmie and seems like others have said the Pietta conversion fit theirs ..
Anyone have one and use a conversion in it ?
I like this older ASM Remmie better than the newer model one I owned ...this older model doesn`t have anything stamped on the frame or barrel where it can be seen ...all the info is on the underside , most under the loading lever .

Not something I had ever considered.   I have a ASM and it is a 1990.  II have a number of Piettas and one R&D converter for Piettas.  I just went over to the shop and tried it in the ASM. It is too long.   Pietta cap & ball cylinders are also too long for the ASM.  Not what you needed to know . . . but that's all I can add to the subject.   Smiley

Thanks Wolfgang ...Thats the problem with the ASM frame window size , the cylinders were longer in the early years ...
This one is 1978 and it has the longer cylinder I measured yesterday ...2.018
My newer ASM had a 2.0 and it was a 1999 made
anyway I did some searching on the net and found this which helped .
Pietta cylinder ..2.018
Uberti cylinder..2.0
So it looks like Pietta cylinders will fit the older ASM Remmies and Uberti will fit the newer .
I also noticed there are no stampings on the side of this older ASM all the proof marks are on the underside of the gun ..
and the newer one had stampings on the top and sides of the barrel and frame .
This 1978 one I just bought came to me still unfired new in the box ....fit and finish is as nice as Uberti on this one , shes a keeper ... Wink
