3 Variations of Bowies
« on: December 09, 2009, 04:38:31 PM »
Just finished these three up, but still have to make the sheaths.I wanted to do several versions with various materials.Dave

The first is a more period style, with a 9" 1080 steel blade. The guard is also 1080, the crown is Whitetail with a rawhide wrap and sinew.

This one has a 9 3/4" 1095 steel blade. The blade has been handrubbed and dipped for a nice patina. The guard and buttcap are copper and the handle is premium Sambar Stag.

This one is a dressy Gambler style bowie with a 9" Chad Nichol's damascus blade.I used brass for the guard and buttcap, with Water Buffalo spacers and European Red stag handle.

A little closer veiw of the pattern of the steel.
