I see some - but not all - old posts lose their image, which is too bad since they're a reference library. What's the best way to post images so that they stay? Skeet

Host then on your own web server. I suspect that the images that are lost are deleted by the member who has the Photobucket, Flickr, etc. account.

I have been guilty of this is in the past.  A while back I pruned my photobucket account and plum forgot that some of the images were linked to websites.  Folks got red "X" instead of a pic.  The other issue is if ya go to your account and edit an image for any reason, and don't save it as a copy, you've changed the address of the original, so in effect it's gone too.

Nowadays I edit a copy, and never throw any pics out.  Photobucket has huge storage limits, so it's not really a problem.

Forgive my ignorance but how do I reduce an image to 150 kb so I can post? Skeet

Yopu can use a program like photoshop, photoimpact, etc., or, as a rule most of the free hosting services offered automated reduction as an option in their menu's.
