Big Hext asked about engraving 73s on the Frontier Spot.

Here is a picture of my 73 engraved by Jim Downey.

That is a very tastefully engraved '73. Both you and the engraver should be proud.

Thanks everyone for the compliments.  Drifter, I won't own a gun I can't shoot :)  I wouldn't get a gun engraved unless it was a good shooter.  To me engraving a gun means it's special to you. Just like buying diamonds for your girl :)

This gun sports a 30" barrel.  I re-did the stock so it isn't so clubby and has more of the original Winchester's contours.  It came out so nice and shot so well I thought it deserved to be treated special.

Maybe my newly aquired Henry will get the same if it deserves it ;)

I just sold an original 73 in 38-40 that had a 28 bbl. and a single set trigger.  I even had a letter from Cody.  I couldn't shoot it because the bore was shot.  The guy who bought it is a collector not a shooter.  Also sold my 86 which was a shooter but I didn't shoot it much and the guy handed me so many $100 bills I couldn't say no ;D

Absolutely!  If you can't shoot it -- what do you do with it?  Unless you have lots and lots of $$$$$, would you buy one you couldn't clang the steel with?
