Those are killer WC. Which basket stamp did you use on that?

I'm struggling with my own tooling patterns. It makes you realize how good Meanea was. He didn't use too many elements in his designs so they didn't look too busy. Here's one I finished a couple of days ago....

Howdy Skeeter,
I don't think you are struggling. That is one beautiful piece of carving!
Howdy Django,
That is a great idea to use a router. I'll have to check it out. Thank you.

Django, I think Paul used a jig saw and a router. We tried a number of different ways to do this, but my molds were no where as nice as his. Paul did custom metal fab for years, and is an all around great wrench. He works in wood and metal.
I use a vise for the body of the mold, then use some screw clamps across the top. Before I take it apart I use a clicker knife to cut the front edge flush against the mold, then when it's dry I sand the top edge to true it up. I've made a template out of cardboard to make sure my edges are all straight and the same size when I trim it out
Skeeter, that's a great carving job. The flower really pops!

Top notch Skeeter, there's no room for improvement here, beautiful work pard.
tEN wOLVES.
JD, those molds are a great way to go, like Marshal Will pointed out, you can reduce the depth a little and they will be tighter in fit, just like anything new, it takes a little time to tweak, great job, on the molds, and I like the way your friend rounded the female portion, he knows how to do it for sure, thanks for the great pictures showing the process.

That probably would not be my first choice for a stamp
Sure do like Barry's tools. Chan Geer is in town next week, and he always brings a good supply of tools to purchase at a discount. I can't attend his class this year, but I can drop in and check out the tools.
