We rented a car, but we NEVER went to Utah with it.  We parked it in Mesquite and hitch-hiked from there and back.

I kind of like my old F-150 with the stick shift and no muffler on the 300 cid in-line 6.  If you lug it you get a sound like a farm tractor, of course that is where they got that engine, from the Ford tractor division.

I do also love the sound of a steam traction engine, got to shovel coal in one one time, they wouldn't let me do anything else since I am not a licensed steam engineer and the DOT gets nasty about that.

Methinks the most moving sound one can imagine is that of the haunting notes of  “The Flowers O’ The Forest” skirling from a solitary set of pipes, in the He'lands of Scotland, on a blustery afternoon as the threatening clouds over head send dark shadows scudding over the green and rocky landscape and across the snowy granite mountains beyond.      "Alba ga bragh"

Love the sound of a Johnny Popper also, did ya ever notice how a popper runnin' hard sounds like a Harley idlin'.   When my ears are tired I like to listen to a "hit and miss' a runnin' along shelling corn or pumpin' water.
