Two Flints, I just purchased a Spencer carbine in 56-50 back at the N-SSA Spring National, I was really looking for one in 45 LC but found one being offered at 1/2 the going price. At that point the 56-50 look very good. I just got my brass and dies and been reading the posts here to get my background info on loads. I would like to join the SSS and hope to get back into the Cowboy game at some point. Currently I do Civil War Cavarly living history and plan to use my Spencer for live fire events. I have found some good starting loads for both black and smokeless and once the heat wave out here in CA passes I will aneal my brass. Thanks to all for some great info and insights into 56-50.

I got my Cimarron 1865 Spencer in .45 Colt. Great carbine and fun to shoot. I'll never win a SASS match with it unless they add in style points. Hope to shoot it at GAF Fall Muster. Curly LaGrande GAF#490 Capt, U.S.Cavalry SASS#26,914

Howdy the fire, Bad Lands here, been shoot'n my Burnside Spencer Carbine for about 15 years now and it's brought home the bacon many times, white tail and wild boar. Bought it as a barreled action with a coffee can full of parts at the Tulsa gun show about 18 years ago. Got it up and running and it's 10 ring acurate at hundred yards, during a hog hunt my dad named it "ole painless" because of the clean kills i made with it. Wouldn't take for it, glad to be in such fine company.

Willy Dixon, wanting to join the Spencer Shooting Society officially since my dad offered to buy my first rifle after he found out it was a toss between a Henry and a Spencer. Had to go with the Spencer, everyone has lever-actions! Getting a 56-50 and looking forward to some sharpshooter style hittin with it out on the range!
going to be a Taylor's Spencer Carbine
