Sgt Buck checking in.
A rifle sounds like a fun thing, but how many 44-40's could a Spencer hold?

Have had a .45 Schoefield Taylor's for a year or so. Just acquired a new one in .56-50, ready to start loading those little fat cartridges!

Have numerous muzzle stuffers & breechloaders for CW re-enacting but Taylor 56-50
could easily be favorite. Have`nt fired yet due to OMIGOD! price of ammo. Would
appreciate advice on bullet mold, brass. and especially making blanks.
Thanks, Walta44

I think I've found a new home! 1865 rifle on it's second breech block, I'm getting really good at fitting these things. I've just about wore Marcot's book out. Just wish we had Civil War shoots out here in Idaho, I'd love to do Wilder's Lightning Brigade. Everyone agrees the Spencer is a real fun gun. Gotta nail a deer with mine sometime.

Hi Glenn,
Welcome to SSS. Thanks for joining!!
If you get a chance would you please do a NEW TOPIC post on your Burnside and what is involved in doing a conversion block for it. If it's your second time, you must know your stuff, and I and others would be very interested in how you do/did the conversion.
Again, thanks for joining.

Hi Ed,
Thanks for joining! I did a double check on the membership list, but you did not join before. Glad to have you as a member. Sure would like to know more about your original Spencer and how you set it up to shoot. Conversion kit? Which one/maker. Would make a great new topic. If you have the time, would like a blow by blow description of how you set up your original to get it to shoot ???centerfire rounds???
