A new uhhh used Sdhofield

Other old west guns hmmmm well time to get back to the break tops!!!

Well I was offering up some trades in an attempt to obtain some short barled Uberti Schofields in 45 and came up with one in 44Win.  It should be at least another week or two before I get a chance to pick it up from my shipping guy.   Right now my greatest concern will be whether or not I can get it to operate as smoothly with black powder subs as do my long barl .45 Schofields???  Anyone experimenting with this caliber in smoky loads had good results?  Most of my 44-40 rounds are only around 26grs of Pinnacle anyway and this is close to what the 45s work so well with.  Soon as I get it I will make a holster and do some sperryminting with the loads and then I will get back here with my results.
