Cartridge question
« on: March 06, 2009, 05:07:42 PM »
I am very new to these type of firearms. I've been wanting to buy a pistol or two and maybe a rifle and try this sport out. My question is, is something like a cimarron model p able to shoot modern store bought loads or are they special loads or maybe black powder cartridges?  Any help is appreciated, thanks.

Howdy,
these guns are designed to shoot any SAAMI spec ammo.  So most any store bought ammo should be fine.  Smokeless or BP is fine.  This desiign is for ammo with lead bullets, but jacketed ammo should be okay as well.  Just avoid hot hunting loads, or any handload that is listed in the reloading book as being for Ruger or Thompson Center only.
