They shut down the campgrounds at The Eureka State Park by Graeagle this summer for a plague outbreak.  Then I see people hand feeding the little vermin ::) (ground squirrels).

Interesting news.  I usually get updates from the CDC (morbid curiosity on my part, after I read the Hot Zone, I was fascinated).   I try and read them all, but must have missed the cases.   I remember in high school Zoology doing population studies that had us trapping field mice, weighing them and letting them go.  Bet you can't do that any more.  We also did growth hormone study on baby roosters.  Did that in the fall, in the spring after one of the country folk took the specimins, we had the Zoology BBQ.   Might explain why I grew 3 inches the next year.
