Can anyone tell me what are the significant differences in the pre-war and standard USFA SA?  Worth the diff?  Looked like the main difference was finish?  Any info appreciated - looking to order shortly...

Greetings, Doc,
Finish is pretty much it, and it is in the bluing.  Bluing on the Pre-War models replicates the finish that Colt put on their 1st generation SAA's.  I believe that CCH hammers are also standard.
And speaking of CCH hammers...  Didn't I see somewhere that USFA is going back to CCH hammers on all of their models?  Thought I saw that in the newsletter or something.  Maybe I was just dreaming.

The Pre-War models do come with the Armory Blue instead of the darker Dome Blue, and it comes with the Case Colored Hammer as standard.  It also comes with the Blackpowder frame and Bullseye ejector head along with correct placement of assembily numbers as standard.

Thanks y'all!  Looked like on the USFA site that either cross pin or BP frame was an option with pre-war; also looked like their standard SA had the Bullseye ejector rather than the crescent.  Only SAs I saw with the crescent were the rodeos?  Although I suppose you could order any gun with any configuration; only USFA I've played with had Bullseye and appeared to be standard SA...

I've got an early one (not USPFA but right after) that has:

Full Dome Blue (civilian full blue).
Bullseye ejector
Hammer is polished on sides (not casehardened).
Early (BP style) cylinder pin retaining screw.
Marked with all assembly numbers.
Correctly serial numbered on frame, Trigger Guard and Backstrap.
Early BP style cylinder chamfering.
One piece wood grips.
7 1/2 inch barrel.
