.50-95 brass IS available!
« on: January 21, 2009, 02:52:49 PM »
At Rowdy's suggestion I contact Ten-X to see if they sell unloaded .50-95 brass.  Richard responded saying yes they do, they are $3.00 each.  I called and ordered 100 cases  ;D  I asked who's brass they use.  I was told that it is Bertram, made to their specifications and made with their Ten-X headstamp.  Its not the same as Bertram marked brass sold through other sources.

Thanks for the tip Rowdy :)

I just received a call back from Richard at Ten-X.  It seems they thought they had plenty of .50-95 brass on hand, but that is not the case after all :(  He called to appologize for the mistake.  He's said he might be able to come up with some, but not enough to complete my order.  They are expecting more to arrive in March.  Its disappointing, but I do appreciate his call and being up front about it.

Of course, the 50-95 Jamison could be necked to .45-75...

Better yet, let's hope they make some .45-75 brass at the same time.

Boy did I get a surprise last night.  Through the dark and storm, my UPS driver delivered a small package from Ten-X.  Inside were 100 brand new, beautiful Ten-X .50-95 cases!  Richard must have uncovered a hidden stash ;)

Since they are Bertram made brass, I'm thinking that it would be prudent to anneal the mouths before use.  What do you all think?

Howdy Pards
I got the production schedule from Jamison and the 45-75 and the 50-95 will be ready by the end of april .
they ask about the chamber are they different from winchester ? I know that early Chaparral 45-60 had chamber problem
what about 45-75 and 50-95 ?? Jamison needs to know this . The even ask for a sample that has been fired to check the chamber .
So does anyone have a 50-95 or a 45-75 fire formed they could send ?????  It might help speed things up ?

nd - My vote is yes at 3 bucks a case.  I just got 100 Starline cases of 50-70 and trust me ... I hate annealing.  But I did

JB - Yeah, I went ahead and annealed them all.  It is a pain, but its good insurance.

Rowdy - I've got some .50 Alaskan cases on their way that I will make into .50-95.  They are half the price of the Ten-X cases.  After I fire them, I'll send one to Jamison.

Maybe the .45-75 and .45-60 boys aren't reading this discussion becasue of the title.  Might want to post a new topic with a "Samples wanted" title.  Having a couple different samples of each would probably be a good thing too.
