Question on Uberti 1 piece grips vs. Colt SAA 2 piece grips
« on: October 22, 2008, 10:45:55 AM »
I have a 3rd generation nickel Colt SAA and an Uberti Regulator 1873. Both guns look identical except for the grips. I want to put similar grips on both, but the Colt uses two grip panels and the Uberti is a one piece. Any advice on putting two piece grips on the Uberti. Looks like the Colt has a roll pin in the frame to keep the grips from moving. I could drill and place a similar roll pin on the Uberti Frame.

Thanks

Ken

sounds like you got it figured out already. The position of the pin hole is very critical unless the grips don't have a hole yet and can be drilled after the grip frame.

Maybe Alabama will see this and respond.  He does beautiful work and prefers two piece grips.

You might see if you can PM or e-mail him.
