Howdy 316,
That is AWESOME!! I had never thought about making a sheath like that! I know that my brain isn't working right but I still wouldn't have thought of that!
Thanks for sharing.

All of the Pard's echo my sentiments. Great job and welcome to the Forum. The star is a neat touch. Look forward to seeing your Slim Jims.

Howdy BB
,
I like your holster, it shows great design and the desire to have a period correct holster. Don't take this wrong, I do realy like your holster, the Star is a bit much for me, but I am not the person that is going to wear it! you did a AWESOME job on it, and if the star wasn't there it would be a perfect period peice.
Please keep in mind, this is only my opinion and in no way reflects on the forum.
Keep up the great work!!

Well, I finally finished a project. I built a Wild Bunch holster, trying to get it to look close to the shooter's SAA holster.
The color didn't trun out as well as I'd hoped. I tested a half dozen dyes trying to match the color, and Eco-Flo all in one Desert Tan looked the closest, testing on a piece that I used for the front. I don't like using all in one, and doubt if I will again. I went over it with Fiebings light brown antique paste to get some color in the impressions, and tried to gaive it a little bit of a used look; slronger in some spots, lighter in others.
The first picture is my friends SAA holster, from a local supplier. The second is mine

Howdy JD,
You did real good! Neat and Clean! Nice job of keeping the border stamp concentric with the edge of the Holster. Your friend should be very happy. Where did you get that cool Concho?
Many thanks for sharing this with us.

Thanks for the kind words Johnny. I figured you'd like that Concho! I Googled V-Twin Concho, and up popped S&D Trading. They got it out to me right away; good service. I bought a few spring clips from them as well.
