Thanks for that answer KT. I have a Tandy store locally, and Oregon Leather, which stocks Herman Oak. I know Chuck B recommends Wickett and Craig, so I guess I'm going to have to give that a try.
I don't know a whole lot about leather, but I thought skirting had something to do with the weight of the leather. I just looked at the Wickett & Craig web site, but I'm still not clear if Russet is dyed leather or not.
Can you tell me why you use skirting instead of their tooling/holster leather? Do you know what the difference is?
So, to build holsters and gun belts, you use the Russet skirting in 8-10oz ? Where do you get the lighter weight for lining? It looks like they will split it for you, is that what you do?
