Howdy Pards.
Being new to this forum, but even more 'cause here I'm in the midst of so many talented Leathersmiths makes me a little reluctant to show you my first ever leatherwork. (well... that's not really true; longgggg time ago in primary school I had to make a purse or something with leather and lace but I messed up that one...)
A couple of months ago I got me a Ruger New Vaquero and needed a holster and belt for it. Because the prices overhere (The Netherlands) are steep and/or the leatherwork not to my likings I began thinking about making my own. Discovering this forum turned out to cost me a lot of sleep; reading hour after hour often far past midnight.
Recently I decided to go for it and bought a large piece of leather, some basic tools (swivelknive and stitchgroover), some needles and waxed thread.
I drew the pattern myself, started cutting, sewing and rivetting and within a week the holster and belt were ready to be soaked in my homecooked dye.
Not wanting to make things too complicated the firtst time I wanted it to look (to me at least) like a workingclass holster and belt, pure simple.
I think I succeeded in that; not too fancy looking and the color turned out exactly like I wanted it to be.
Yep; I'm very pleased with the end result.
So.. here she is... made by me with a lot of your help.
