Thumbs, you're doin' great. Keep it up. The next few weeks I'm gonna be on strange schedules, so it's yours.
Found two very exciting things in LA on Wednesday:
House of Pies at 1869 N. Vermont Ave. Best peach pie I've eaten in 45 years. Used to be a place in Willard, Utah (Better peaches than anyplace in Georgia, and apples almost as good as the Yakima Valley.) called Jessie's. They made the best I ever tasted....until Wednesday. They've been out of business for many years now. Damn freeway put them on a back road. I've seen the time when semis were parked on both sides of US 89 for a quarter mile in both directions.
The cherry on top, though, was while we were finishing up a car pulled into the parking lot. I just caught a glimpse, but told my wife I thought it was a mid-30s Chrysler Airflow. Turned out to be a '34
DeSoto Airflow 4 door sedan.

Absolutely marvelous unrestored condition. Dark leaf-green paint is faded and worn, the fabric roof insert is pretty ragged, seats are covered in some generic plastic covers, but no major body damage and very little minor damage. Chrome and paint need to be redone, one hubcap is creased, but it's in amazing shape and IT RUNS!
It's not for sale. The guy's granddad bought it new and he's saving it for his own grandson who is thirteen now.
