Plating Question
« on: January 08, 2005, 05:10:31 PM »
Does any one know where I can get a brass triggerguard/backstrap "Black NIckel Plated" in the Southern California area?

I have an early Dakota and the newer parts don't fit it. Any help would be appreciated
thanks

There are any number of commercial plating shops throughout California - and you'll usually find them listed under "Industrial Plating".
Look also for Trophy Shops, Commercial Jewelers, and Religious Goods Manufacturers - as all have plating needs.

Black Nickel may prove interesting for them.

Failing that - you can chemically blacken the cleaned and polished brass with Liver of Sulphate.

Good Luck.

Thanks Scout,
I ended up buying a closeout set of grips from EMF, and the project turned out great..so I am rid of the brass finally after 22 years...(now I 'll probably miss it...)
