National Cowboy and Western Heritage Museum in OKC,Ok
« on: May 18, 2008, 10:39:46 AM »
I got this from a Friend in Oklahoma on a Dutch Oven Cooking group. Thought I'd pass it along Wishbone

Dear Cast Iron Friends,

The National Cowboy Museum will hold its annual Chuck Wagon Gathering
& Children's Cowboy Festival on Saturday, May 24th and Sunday, May
25th. 2008 This is an annual event put on by the museum's Education
Department and every year they are looking for volunteers to help
serve the food to patrons of the festival.

Last year some of the newly formed Central Oklahoma Dutch Oven Group
came as volunteers. They were able to enter the festival free of
charge and spend some of the time serving food at one of the ten
wagons here from various ranches. They got to visit with the wagon
cooks, support the museum, attend cooking demonstrations, listen to
world class musicians, and share some of their Dutch Oven knowledge
with the many visitors to the museum.

I would like to extend an invitation to parties interested in
volunteering for this year's festival. It is not an all day affair
unless you choose to make it so. We are needing persons over the age
of 18. If you could dress in period clothing, we would love it,
otherwise jeans and a western type shirt would work. We are looking
to cover shifts 9:00 to 12:00, 11:30 to 2:30, and 2:00 to close
(4:30 or 5:00).

Please contact the Assistant Director of Education, Sue McCoy, by
phone at 405-478-2250 extension 264 or by e-mail at
smccoy@nationalcowb oymuseum. org. Or you can contact myself with the
information below.
