I was posting this over on TFS when it went down.
When I called UPS and asked where my package was, the man said it was in a brown truck on the highway.
Me: "A brown truck.... on the highway."
Him: "Yes."
Me: "In other words, you don't know where it is."
Him: "Well, Ma'am, it's probably in a large carton and though it was checked out of Chicago, we just say that when it's put in the carton and ready to leave. It has to get checked in at Burtonsville."
Me: "Ok, so it hasn't checked in, even though its been four days. It's due to be delivered tomorrow. What is the refund if it isn't delivered when you say it will be?"
Him: "Well, uh, we don't guaruntee deliveries around Christmas, so if it was shipped before the 25th, there's no guaruntee."
Me: "It was shipped on the 28th."
A long pause...
Him: "Looking at your records it was shipped on the 28th, so it falls out side of our window for not guarunteeing delivery. So, you'd get your money back. Well, actually, the shipper would get his money back, so he'd have to process it."
Me: "Thank you. And right now, it is scheduled for delivery tomorrow while you still have it as being in Chicago."
Him: "Yep."
Less than ten minutes after my call, the status on the UPS tracking page was updated. Minny was in Laurel, MD, about fifty miles from his destination. At 12:28 AM, Minny got the departure scan. It looks like he may arrive in Manassas on time!
Hurry, Minny!!
