I've been told it was auburn, then one day it all fell out. When the new hair grew in, it was very blonde. I still have some reddish highlights, but can't lie and call it strawberry blonde, it's more like dingy blonde, dishwater blonde, or light brunette. (The gray started last year.)
On the other hand, when my son was born he had a head full of dark red hair. It too fell out when I was bathing him one day, but was replaced by a coppery tone of hair that thousands of women pay millions of dollars trying to recreate.

I was called Rusty (brick red hair) until I was in sixth grade or so.
From then until Ii was about twenty, my hair gradually got darker until it was almost black.
By the time I joined the Corps ten years later, it had lightened to a medium brown with silver highlights.
Since I was forty it has steadily become more and more blonde, until I am now a full-on, bewitching platinum blonde.
Sing along with me, now: "Did you ever see a dream walking? Well, I am."

Dishwater blonde I can relate to. That's what my Mom called hers, so I have a pretty good mental picture here..............Buck

for those that care to know,
I started out with no hair
It grew in blond.
stayed that way til I got a SHORT cut early in high school and came back dark.
I had blond, black, red and brown in hair and beard
now it is gonna be the way I started. (and whats left is turning white)
curley (now you know where the alias came from!)

Well, I'm home, and had to drive around a tree that fell into my road after I left this morning. Of course, my chain saw is in pieces because the thing that runs the chain wasn't spinning anymore.
Might just get out an ax. The tree isn't very big.
It'll be cold, but at least it won't be raining or snowing.

My hair's getting thinner on top.
I make up for it by growing more in my nose and ears.

Forty Rod,
I think we have reached the stage in life where the hair leaves the head and grows where ever it wants on the rest of the body.

I have to agree, Top.
Gravity sucks.
EVERYthing is moving south, hair, chest, shoulders, face, earlobes.
Getting old ain't great, but it beats the heck out of the alternative.

Forty Rod,
I think we both remember a time where it did not seem as if we would. Gravity does not work, we are held here by suction.

Back in high school we had an assignment to predict the world at the end of the 20th Century.
I remember thinking I'd be 58 years old then.. NOBODY lived that long, did they?
Seemed a long way off. Still does, only in another direction.
Anyhow, I got a long time left. Somebody told me "You can't take it with yoiu," so I ain't goin'.
I still have pretty good health, most of my hair, and some of my teeth, my arches are holding up pretty well, my eyes were repaired, I can hear a lot of what I need to hear and all I want to hear, I can digest an anvil, and my mental my mental my menatl my still are still okay.
I can even still chase women.
Can't catch 'em anymore and I've forgotten what do with 'em if I did, but I still chase 'em.

Forty Rod,
I think we are both running down the same chute. Sounds like the same as me with the exception of the feet, bieing stupid and airborne (arn't they one and the same?) during my youth they are extracting revenge. Hang in there.

Forty and Old Top:
Stop yer whinin'! Could be worse, could be female with things moving south. It's a derned good thing I didn't get that tattoo of the bud rose "you know where" in my youth, it'd be fast approaching a long stem rose, now.
So gripe and moan if'n you want, but remember, we are a whole helluva lot better off than many folk in this world.

Annie, I'm better off than MOST folks in this world.
I got friends keeping me amused, educated, amused, fed, amused, humble, amused, and honest. Oh, yeah, and amused, too.
I could be younger, richer, taller, more modest, etc. but then I wouldn't be the wonderful, charming, intellectual, handsome, and modest person you all know and tolerate.

Let's be honest, Forty. It's not "know and tolerate", it's "know and love."
Yep, you have the modesty thing down pat!

Annie, if you know me, you tolerate me.
You don't know me very well, do you?
If i wasn't happily married, and you didn'y live a continent away, I could rectify that, you know.

Miss Annie,
The old, oops I mean the aged, oops, I mean the experienced males seem to have the same problems, I chests have fallen and now we cannot buckle our gun belts around them.
