Well,  Little E got himself a pole here at TMS.  Traffic will be congested around here for the next two or three days. It was neat to go out there and watch the races in person at first. Now the crowds are about 250,000 and the traffic and parking is a nightmare. I'm saving up for one of the Sony Bravia TVs and one of those Bose surround sound systems for next year.  I enjoyed being there, but not all the walking.

Good pole run for Junior.

We were eatin’ supper when McDowell hit the wall. I’m always on my ‘n daughter for over usin’ the term ‘Ok my God’ over ‘n over like a couple of airheads. When I saw that car take a bite ‘n turn right, all I could say was ‘Oh my God’. When hje got out of what was left of the car ‘n limped to the ambulance, all I could do was thank God for anyone who had anything to do with the development of SAFER barriers and the car. Man, what a wallop!

Started lookin’ at new TVs. The one in the hayloft will be simple. Half the time I mute the thing ‘n listen to the radio broadcasts, racin’ or football. Done some lookin’ into recordin’ devices too. Wife hates to change in the rest of the house because she’s so used to what she has.

I just saw the clip of it flipping over and over. Most of the bad wrecks that have happened since the track was new, is going from turn to turn 2. I have been in a rollover. Everything gets quite inside the car and everything is in slow motion.

Those cars are designed to disapate the energy during the crash. The new car has the drivers seat more toward the center of the inside of the car. The neck devise helps, the new seat, and new seat belts all work together for the driver's safety.

The fact that the driver is a young guy helps quite a bit.  They  don't know enough to be scared and they heal fast.

They just want to do me in, don't they?  Just as well, I have acid problems with beer.  None with whiskey. Grin

Shiner makes a good Weizen, but it's not always easy to find around here.  My favorite Friday night hangout used to serve Shiner Bock on tap, but they did away with it to have more room for the watery beers. Angry

Ethanol, global warmin’, can’t start new wells on our own soil ‘n shores. No new nuclear power plants. Can’t build new refineries. This bullsh-t is long past ‘gettin’ old. It’s been old ‘n we’re payin’ for it.

Cousin Carl had ‘em covered – que the duck. Montoya, lapped, messes up the leader on a restart. Later, Edwards approached to put him another lap down ‘n he wouldn’t get out of the way all day. Edwards gave him a l’il help findin’ another groove.

Sorry, Junior. Qualifyin’ is three miles. The race is 500.

With the exception of Johnson, HMS was out to lunch. And, he finishes second then bad mouths the car – never once sayin’ the name Chevrolet in the post race interview. Jimmie, ya got beat. Live with it. Gordon finishes dead last with a car he had to park because he couldn’t drive it.

All three JGR cars seventh or better.

Yeley loses it ‘n smacks the inside wall a ton. Nothin’ new. UNOFFICIAL, blackbox data indicates McDowell hit the wall in qualifyin’, moment of impact, 161 mph. Damn!

The Texas shots were great. The cattle. A cowboy or six. The boot with a spur on it trophy. The hats were kindah corny. The SAA clones awarded the winner were identified as Berettas. Perfect weather. 190,000 folks showed up to watch a more’n decent race with a stand up to watch, ain’t nobody leavin’ finish. Nice job, Texas!

Wonder if the Winner had to have a background call made and they had to be shipped to a dealer where he is a legal resident
