.54 sharps repro

i have a pedersoli .54 sharps. i cannot get consistant groups with this breechloader. i live in maryland close to where the susquehanna joins the upper chesapeake. does anyone on this forum know of a gunsmith in this region (pennslyvania, maryland, delaware - new jersey, even) who could rebore this rifle with a chrome liner with the correct twist and rifling? thanks in advance, geo.

call for prices but my info says he can reline a sharps for $135; but i have seen internet info that it's $200 + $20 return shipping via ups for a rebore. he can do a stainless steel liner; any twist, any standard caliber, any rifling type. if you ship the rifle to him strip the stock(s), sights, any furniture before hand...just ship the barrel and if it has a block that too. good luck, geo.

I know it's been a while since you posted this question but I'd like to ask you what bullet have you been using? There might not be anything wrong with your barrel. It might be the slug you are using.
