Kid,
The Christians believe that on Christmas, God gave to Man His only begotten Son. It is the greatest gift of all. Whether or not you are Christian, the spirit of Christmas: that of giving, is universal.
There are many ways to give. It can be a kind word spoken to a stranger. It can be an attempt to uplift a person who is down. It can be donating to Toys for Tots. It can be donating your time to the Christmas dinner for the homeless.
Every community has people in need: families without homes, parents who can't afford any presents for their children. If you called your local radio station, I am sure they would have a list of organizations and families who are in dire need of help this time of year. Even if that doesn't succeed, you could always go to the grocery store, buy a can of beans for under $2, and donate that can to the local food bank. They probably even have a container in the store to collect the donations.
The person receiving your gift may never know it was you who purchased that can of beans. But you will. And you will know that you acted out of the spirit of Christmas and perhaps find some joy in that... and you'll also be able to post here with a big:
Nanny, Nanny, Boo, Boo!
With warmth,
AnnieLee
