Can anyone here help me out?
I have a mate here who has bought a Chaparel copy of the 1876 in 40-60 and is having a hell of a time getting brass. Does anyone know of a source that does this caliber?
Your help would be appreciated

Welcome DaiSloe!
I don't have a 76 in this caliber, so no first hand experience. I know that Buffalo Arms lists 40-60 brass that is made from reformed 45-70 brass.

It says that headspace may be a problem, however.
Ten-X loads the 40-60 in both BP and Smokeless.

Ain't cheap tho.....
FWIW, most folks seem to be having pretty good luck with the reformed 45-70 stuff from BA or making it themselves.
Lee has the dies.
