KVC 2008 Schedule

  This year we are doing all our shoots on the first weekend of each month. Here is our schedule for the first half, rest to follow.

  Jan- Duck Creek, Great weather, good time had by all.
  Feb- Movies and convention planning
  Feb- 15-17 NCOWS convention KC,KS
  Mar- Buffalo hunt, Near Lebo KS.
  Apr- Shoot at Garnett
  May- 2-gun shoot and trade fair, Our premier shoot of the year. Garnett KS
         Also this year bring all those things youv'e out-grown or just don't use anymore to trade or sell.
  June- National shoot Evansville IN
  Jly- Detective shoot  Garnett KS

  The buffalo shoot the first weekend in Mar is going to have to be postponed to a later date. The road to get in is a mud road and even if we got no more rain , at this point it would be a mess.  >:(      jt

   Weather for the 2gun shoot this comming weekend is looking great. Don't worry if you have not pre-registered you may pay when you get there. Remember your entry includes chuckwagon meals fri through sun.

The '07 Detective Shoot was a team match of 7 stages.  The seventh stage was a detection test.

For the 2008 match the "detectives" will be working solo and the detection portion will come first.  It will tell you who to shoot &/or who not to shoot. ;D ;

The stages will be shot on Saturday.

Lots of shooting?  Pistol? Rifle? Shotgun?  Details man, details.  Tina is not working the 4th so, I may have the opportunity to come down and play.  Single Action or Double Action pistol?  Does it matter?

Bring a Pocket Pistol and a Main match Pistol and a Rifle; anything else will be staged.

The Dective Shoot
Don't know If i will feel like shooting on that day but i might get lucky and have a good back day, is it a one day shoot or 2?
What do you call a pocket pistol? Is there a lot of running evolved, when more details are aviable please let me know?

Now that I've had some time to work on the Detective shoot...

You will need:

1 NCOWS legal Main Match Rifle
1 NCOWS legal Main Match Pistol
1 NCOWS legal Pocket Pistol

[If you don't have any of the above we will furnish you with one.]

You will need a box of ammo for the rifle & pistol combo and a couple cylinders full for the pocket pistol.

All stages will be shot on Saturday;  Unless we have so many shooters that we require Suday.

You will have to "detect" and determine which targets are to be shot and which are no shoot targets.

Should be interesting and fun. ;D

I almost forgot;  You will also need a Period Correct knife.

   For the .22 shoot in Aug. Bring a revolver, Repeating rifle (no autoloaders), (no scopes) and a single shot rifle. If you don't have any of the above bring a box of 22 LR and there will be guns to shoot.

  In Sept the first weekend will be the Buffalo shoot near Lebo KS ( Contact me for Directions)
  Oct (first wknd) the infamous 1880s town (Garnett KS)
  Nov       "          Hunter shoot (near Emporia KS.)
  Dec is our dinner at the Golden Ox in KC KS, date not set yet.

    Hope you can make at least some of these.    jt
