3:10 to Yuma
« on: January 09, 2008, 02:08:49 AM »
Just finished watching 3:10 to Yuma. Decent movie, worth watching. Not entirely off topic here as USFA firearms are used as all of you know. Not gonna leak any spoilers but my favorite quote is: "Your brother was a lyin', bilkin card sharp. That is, if he's the axxxole I remember. Could, of course, been some other axxxxole I killed that I forgot about"...........

How easy is it to identify the USFA guns?  Do the grips have the logo?

What happened to the USFA guns after the movie shoot?  Does Russel Crowe now own a Pre-War?

What the featurettes on the DVD.  There is one specifically about the arms.  The gun wrangler calls it 'US Arms Company'.  He shows up again in the stage stunt featurette talking about the Colt gatling gun.  You can tell this guy really enjoys his work.

Yes he does. His name is Thell Reed. He has been the credited gun coach on a dozen of motion pictures from Last Man Standing to Eastwoods Flags of Our Fathers. What a great job!

Thell does some absolutely incredible work with a SAA and LIVE ammo. In my book, one of, if not the best ever.

I haven't seen Thel Reed do any gun handling, but I do have a DVD of Bob Munden. His live fire work is pretty impressive.
