Colonel Flashman and all: that's why I love CAS in the USA. Very straight forward.
If you were shooting C&B revolvers on a German range under say DSB rules the loading process would be similar (-ly time consuming) with one extra, however. You load your pistol with powder (directly from the flask is not allowed), wad, grits, ball and grease or what have you, on the table behind you, i. e. with your back to the target. Then you turn to the table between you and the target (which is 25 meters from the target), cap the pistol and shoot. All for safety sake!
