Quick questions:

"Buffalo Arms" I have bought from them in the past. They sold either Jamison or "reformed" Wincheter .348..........do you have some with THEIR NAME on the headstamp? Or just some that is Winchester that may have been thinned?

When you say original, how did you measure these? On all of the old (balloon head) cases I have seen the have a convex head shape (meaning the outer rim would be thinner that near the primer pocket).

Not meaning any disrespect just trying to wrap my head around this :-\

Thanks!

HH;  I think the question was ,how do you measure rim thickness?  I'd use the little "thingie" that sticks out the other end a my gallopers.  Case pressed down on a hard surface, end of the calipers on top 'o the rim, and get the thingie to stick out onta tha said hard surface.  There, Robert's yer fathers brother!

I measured the rims on two original .45-75 ctgs. that I have. Because the rims have a slight radius on the outer edge, to get a more accurate measurement I first measured the o.a.l. of the case. Then I measured the distance from the case mouth to the forward portion of the rim and subracted the two dimensions. This is what I came up with.

Here is a link to the only brass available (at the present) from Buffalo Arms:
http://www.buffaloarms.com/browse.cfm/4,435.htm

If anyone has any info regarding whether or not they are "reducing" the rim thickness in some way on these formed cases please post it!

Thanks ;D

Mine did not have any changes to rim thickness.  My SRC does not require it.
Sincerely,

Hobie
