Just took delivery of my .45 Colt 5 1/2" blued Pre-War.  Opened up the box and all I could say was "wow".  The case hardening and bluing are striking, to say the least.  Hard rubber grips fit my hands perfectly and it was so nice to hear the "click-click-click-click" when I pulled the hammer back.  Next step is to add some slightly aged TruIvory grips and I'll be set.

Let's hope it shoots as good as it looks.  Will find that out this weekend.

Congrats ChuckS1.  I know you will love it even more after you shoot it.  I have had great luck with Winchester Factory Cowboy Loads shooting to POA.  Let us know how the weekend goes with your new pard.

PS.  If you are married, keep it to the outside and she won't feel it in bed with you!

Congratulations on your prewar, excellent choice. May I ask how long the wait was?

Got from Gunbroke.comr, ANIB, from an older gentleman who was selling his collection due to failing eyesight.  Doesn't look like it was ever fired.

I have even gotten some like that that still had the warranty card in it and sent it in.  As far as USFA was concerned I was the warrantied owner and they took care of me as the new owner.  Pre-Wars are probably better looking than the originals made in the 19th century with not a tool mark on them and perfect case colors.
